The Backyard Demonstration Garden is a 1440 square foot edible landscape that includes a variety of low and moderate water plants - many California natives - in a water-wise design. Its diverse collection of nectar-rich plants attracts native pollinators like carpenter bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. In addition, our dwarf persimmon tree, an espaliered fruit tree fence and vegetables grown in raised beds have supplied food for low income Sonoma County residents for many years.
